Afrocentric Gentleman : WARDROBE

Last week we succeeded in defining who the Afrocentric Gentleman is , what he's about and what it entails to become one , now today we're going to be talking about his wardrobe ,to become an Afrocentric gentlemen you have to first look the part, after all one has to dress the way he wants to be addressed.
Outlining several scenarios we'll highlight the style to match each.

 1) THE FORMAL SET UP; this cuts across classes , office or where you're probably doing your internship. In a nutshell wherever you have a
hierarchy with set decorum, you're in the formal set up. In this situations skinny Jeans with Jordans and a versace T-shirt does not cut it, what will serve here is a long sleeve or short sleeve shirt, cashmere pants, Chinos as the case may be with Polo shirts. For shoes, one can be a little more liberal but not outlandish.

2) CHURCH /WEDDINGS I am of the opinion that either you rock the traditional attire, complete with the sandals or formal footwear(brogues, loafers etc) or you go for the corporate look. Attending a wedding or attending Church in a T-shirt or  polo is wrong, and it's a no-no in my book , I don't care how much it cost.
3) HANG OUTS movies, chilling at the bar with the guys , gaming at a bros house or a not too serious pool outing normally at this juncture it's okay to turn it down, a Polo, sweatshirt, T-shirts with denim pants, shorts is okay if you know how to work it. A nice converse or palm slipper is the ideal footwear for this occasion.
4) CLUBBING This includes all nature of gbedu, here we pull out all the stops signs, the Afrocentric Gentleman shows up like someone from Tygas video, Timberland boots , Zanotti trainers, the leather zipped shirts and the whole package basically the theme is urban .
The point of this article is to make us understand that there's style for every season and for every a style to match. Until our next publication, good luck as go on your way to be the Afrocentric gentleman.
